Mountain Bike Riding
Throughout Eldorado, there are many off-road tracks and trails that offer something unique and challenging for riders with the Mt Pilot National Park offering an experience for thrill-seekers riding through the bush or families enjoying the great outdoors.
The McEvoy Tavern
Just a two minute walk up the road and you can visit Victoria's smallest pub. You will be greeted by friendly locals and a warm meal.
Heading down towards Reedy Creek this trail follows a waterway upstream to a suspension bridge over the creek. On the way, there is widespread evidence of the impact of alluvial gold mining on the local environment, as well as many opportunities to get down to the creek and take a dip.
Wine and Cheese
Eldorado Road specializes in red varieties only, growing Durif and Nero d’Avola at our Eldorado Road vineyard taking full advantage of Eldorado’s magnificent soils and terroir. We also lease a local Shiraz vineyard planted way back in the 1890s and still farmed without irrigation producing small quantities of amazing fruit. This particular vineyard and wine truly reflect a unique piece of Australian winemaking heritage.
Victoria’s North East is a road cycling paradise! With breathtaking scenery, quiet country roads, alpine ascents, and happy-to-help locals. With such a wide range of cycling options, this part of the world is THE ideal holiday destination for avid road cyclists.
Reedy Creek is located in the magnificent Mt Pilot National Park. It is a short drive from Camp Crusty Eldorado, a perfect place for swimming, gold panning, and exploring.
Ned Kelly Tour
By following the Touring Route, Kelly-inspired visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the Kelly narrative through storyboards installed at the sites where the historic events occurred – Old Melbourne Gaol, Avenel, Euroa, Stringybark Creek, Glenrowan, Beechworth, Benalla and Jerilderie – geographic markers of a national phenomenon.
Horse riding is permitted throughout the area and there are many roads and tracks where you can enjoy fantastic scenery and varied terrains.
Gold Panning and Fossicking
Eldorado is the one place in the whole of Australia where you will have a virtual guarantee to find gemstones and crystals along the whole expanse of Reedy Creek, the richest of all Australian Creeks. Fossicking along the creek is a very popular and successful hobby and it’s a great way to experience the ‘Gold Rush’ of this once bustling mining area.
